Dr. Scherpbier completed medical training at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and obtained his MS in Medical Informatics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He has worked for a number of health IT firms in the US: SMS, Aetna US Healthcare, Carescience, Siemens. He most recently was the Chief Medical Information Officer at Main Line Health, a Philadelphia-based health system, where he lead implementation of EMRs in both acute care and ambulatory care on a variety of EMR systems. Dr. Scherpbier is adjunct faculty at the Jefferson College of Population Health, where he teaches Health Informatics and Population Health Analytics.
